無水アルミニウムは、免疫補助活性を持つアルミニウム塩です。この薬剤は、溶液中のタンパク質抗原を吸着および沈殿させます。結果として生じる沈殿物は、接種部位で形成されたワクチン貯留層からの抗原のゆっくりした放出を促進することにより、ワクチン免疫原性を改善します。硫酸アルミニウムが下水に投与されると、酸性蛍光剤と水の天然アルカリ度との反応によって寄与する水酸化アルミニウムの流食になります。
