アニオン性ポリアクリルアミド（APAM）は、アクリルアミドとアクリル酸の共重合によって形成される水溶性線形高分子凝集剤です。これは、水溶性高ポリマーです。ほとんどの有機溶媒に可溶性ではなく、良好な凝集活性を備えており、液体間の摩擦抵抗を減らすことができます。懸濁粒子の電荷を中和することにより、粒子の凝集を促進し、水中の粒子を不安定にします。不安定な粒子は、高分子ポリマーの活性遺伝子の橋の作用の下で互いに吸着します。最後に、より大きなフロックが形成されます。
